Today, The Hollywood Reporter announced that it has partnered with Japanese digital media company Hersey Shiga Global to once again, bring the entertainment publication to the Japanese market. Beginning Oct.1, 2021, Hersey Shiga Global will be appointed THR’s sales representative for print, digital, and event advertisements and sponsorships for all territories across Japan.
“Japan is an innovative and incredibly important market to the entertainment industry,” said Alison Smith Pleiser, THR’s VP, International. “We look forward to working with Hersey and elevating The Hollywood Reporter footprint in this region.”

In 2020, The Hollywood Reporter parent company MRC and Penske Media Corp. announced a joint venture establishing PMRC, which encompasses trade and consumer brands in entertainment such as PMC’s Variety and Rolling Stone along with MRC’s THR, Billboard, and Vibe. The move marked a major consolidation move within the entertainment trade publication space and has cemented the media corporation as a powerhouse covering film, television, music, sports, lifestyle, and fashion.

The agreement also includes implementing a robust social media strategy that will engage and inspire entertainment (TV and film) enthusiasts and professionals alike.
